*This is a quick description of a two and a half month European tour that is coming to a close. Saw many good friends, made many more. Throughout my travels I am constantly inspired spaces, places and people that I have the incredible fortune to participate with. I’m writing this from a little saloon at the bottom of a skinny hotel in Amsterdam next to a canal swarming with swans and ducks on the docks. The Names of people and places have not been changed in order to protect their identity.
*The tour started in Gap, France with Germaul Barnes, a dancer/choreographer/friend November 27th of the last solar year. We performed our duo project ‘Bitahkiz Ayeli’ and also lead a 3-day improvisation workshop with musicians and dancers together that culminated in a performance of the workshop participants.
*December 1st I performed in duo with the Italian contrabassist Stefano Scodanibbio in Milano at the Sincronie Festival. It’s a yearly festival organized by Milanese musicians. A great feeling all around. Performed at Artoteca, an inspiring art gallery that also hosts some of the most adventurous music in Milano.
More to come…
