guqin solos; the simplest are first. the guqin (also known as ch’in) is a
7-string Chinese instrument, without frets or bridges, played horizontal-
ly. the strings on this instrument are silk. there are nodal position
markers. it’s almost identical to a Ming dynasty model and may be Ming;
it’s been heavily repaired. it sings.
